Frequently asked questions
All Lower School classes are taught predominantly by their form teachers and teaching assistants within their own classrooms. The exceptions are Games, French, ICT, library and music, all of which are taught by specialist staff here at Daniels Preparatory School.

Application Requirements
Kindergarten applicants must turn five on or before October 15, 2024.
- A submitted online application
- Parent/guardian conversation: All applicant parents/guardians will have an opportunity to speak with a member of the Daniels Prep admissions team.
- The ISAAGNY confidential school report: This report is to be filled out by your daughter’s current program and is accessible through our admissions portal after you submit the online application.
- Kindergarten group assessment: All kindergarten applicants will be seen in a group setting. These group meetings are held in person at our lower school building.

Admission Steps
Create and submit an application through our Application Portal.
If applicable, apply for Financial Aid and complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) through SSS. All required documentation must be uploaded to the SSS website by December 1, 2023. Please request that a report be sent to The Daniels Preparatory School
- All families will have a one-on-one parent/guardian conversation with an admissions team member.
- Applicants will be seen in a group setting or one-on-one depending on the applicant’s applying grade. You can schedule these appointments in the Application Portal.
- Personalized campus tours will be offered at various times this fall for applicant families. Please schedule your campus tour in the Application Portal.
This includes a completed application, school records, teacher evaluation forms, and any supplementary documents.

Does Daniels Preparatory School have sports teams?
It started out as a basketball academy that focused on the mentorship of our student athletes with a mere five students athletes in a public school located in the heart of Brooklyn. Growing rapidly, the academy moved into a larger purpose building and morphing into something with more purpose.
What is the student/teacher ratio Daniels Prep?
It started out as a online school in 2020, year after year the school grew into something of a household name. Our fan base has grown, the number of families has grown. Our current student athlete to teacher ratio currently sits at 15:1
What are primary entry points at Daniels Prep?
It started out as a idea then morphed into a College Preparatory School from K-12 with five student athletes in a public school located in Brooklyn, NY. Right now Daniels Prep is currently accepting domestic and international student athletes from grades K-12
What is the birthday cut-off?
Daniels Prep doesn’t currently have a birthdate cutoff. We screen our student athletes accordingly and start them according to their transcript.
Do you offer a discount for multiple student athletes?
Here at Daniels Prep we provide family/ sibling discounts. We want to create an provide legacy to families who believe in Daniels Prep as the right place for their student athletes.
Do you offer Financial Assistance?
Daniels Prep will offer financial aid for families and student athletes who qualify use our Tuition page to see if you qualify for financial aid
